A United States conspiracy theorist says she is proud of what she's doing, asking parents who lost their children in school shootings to "prove to the world you've lost your son".
Kelley Watt, a grandmother of two who goes by 'gr8mom' on the internet, wrote to Lenny Pozner - who lost her six-year-old son Noah in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting - demanding she prove her son's death.
"Prove to the world you've lost your son."
Watt said she has spent the past decade "researching" mass shootings, which she believes are false-flag operations in a bid to push gun-control legislation.
Watt told author Elizabeth Williamson her "research" involves sending messages and harassing family members of people who were killed in mass shootings.
"I just had a strong sense that this didn't happen," she said.
"Too many of those parents just rub me the wrong way."
Watt's story has been shared in Williamson's newly-released book Sandy Hook: An American Tragedy and the Battle for Truth.
The grandmother said she was "proud" of what she has done and will continue to do.
According to Watt, her evidence is that some parents who had lost their children in the Sandy Hook tragedy didn't cry enough, while others were "too old to have kids that age".
Watt's daughter Madison said she had lost hope in changing her mother's mind, and her world of conspiracy theories had led to the ending of her marriage and a tense relationship with her children.
"Her whole identity has been built on this for so many years," Madison said. "She's invested so much."
