A Russian invasion plan in Ukraine failed after Russian troops were forced to retreat following a Ukraine fightback.
Footage from the Ukraine Weapons Tracker shows the moment two Russian BMP infantry fighting tanks were hit by Ukrainian artillery fire in the village of Verkhnokamianka, Luhansk.
Ukrainian soldiers who launched the ambush said at least one tank was obliterated.
Ukraine's Armed Forces said Russian troops tried to advance toward the village but "suffered losses and retreated".
Local media reported another failed attempt to attack Ukraine forces, as the military said Russian troops have also been "unsuccessfully" storming Ivano-Darivka village in Donetsk Oblast.
Earlier this month, Russia said it had taken full control of the eastern Ukrainian region of Luhansk.
Since abandoning an assault on the capital Kyiv, Russia has concentrated its military operation on the industrial Donbas heartland that comprises the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, where Moscow-backed separatist proxies have been fighting Ukraine since 2014.
Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu informed President Vladimir Putin that Luhansk had been "liberated", the defence ministry said, after Russia earlier said its forces had captured villages around Lysychansk and encircled the city.
