A man has died after sneaking into a lion enclosure at a zoo in Ghana and being attacked by one of the lions.
On Sunday (local time) staff patrolling the area noticed a man had jumped the security fence and snuck into the lion enclosure.
The intruder was then attacked by a lion and died from his injuries.
Guards at the zoo discovered the man's body around midday (local time) and it was taken to the morgue.
In a press release, The Forestry Commission in Accra, in south Ghana, said they were able to put the lions into a secure hold before police began investigations.
"We wish to confirm that the lion, the lioness and the two cubs remain secured in their enclosure at the Accra Zoo," authorities said.
The reasoning behind why the man snuck into the lion enclosure is unclear.
