The UK came to halt on Sunday evening (local time) when they observed a national moment of silence for Queen Elizabeth II.
People around the UK observed the moment of silence at 8pm on Sunday at home, on their doorstep, in their streets or at community events and vigils staged across the country.
When Big Ben hit 8pm, it marked the start of the moment of reflection before another bell struck at 8:01pm to end the silence.
