A royal biographer claims the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "ran royal staff over" leaving them "quite broken" after working for the couple.

Author and royal correspondent for The Times Valentine Low shared some of the insights of his new book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind The Crown, on GB News' Dan Wootton Tonight.

Low alleged Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were bullies to work for, telling Wootton he knew of "several people [who] were quite broken working there".

"When you hear about people saying at the time, they're about to have a meeting with Meghan, they're very worried about how it's gonna go when they say things like, 'I'm shaking, I feel sick.' It's not a good workplace."

Low said Meghan and Prince Harry were never held accountable for their behaviour because Buckingham Palace "hadn’t confronted a situation like this before".

"Everyone within the palace structure was too genteel and civil and they were run over by Harry and Meghan.

"They truly believe that they were the victims. They were treated appallingly by the palace management."

Low goes on to allege the staff were so traumatised after working for the pair that they would call themselves the "Sussex survivor club".

The bombshell book also alleges Meghan's "harsh" treatment of aides and disputes between other royals, news.com.au reports.

Other anecdotes claim Meghan even complained "I can't believe I'm not getting paid for this" during the pair's royal tour in Australia.
