A German MP has become the subject of scandal after leaving his wife and three children for a former porn star.
Hagen Reinhold, 44, left his wife of 16 years, Karoline Preisler, for former pornstar Annina Semmelhaack - who is known for her work in adult films.
Reinhold and Semmelhaack became romantically involved with each other during mentoring sessions to promote women into politics, the Daily Mail UK reported.
The former adult film star made the switch from porn to politics in the hopes of standing for the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in local elections in 2023.
Reinhold and his former partner Preisler are also members of the FDP.
Semmelhaack said their new romance is "a great love and we're going into a happy future together", the Daily Mail UK reported.
The former pornstar has posted numerous photos of the new couple together on her Instagram over the previous months.
On Twitter, Preisler tweeted she was leaving politics and moving to Berlin for "something new".
