A US sports reporter is going viral after a hilarious rant in the bitterly cold conditions saw him moan and complain through multiple live crosses.
The US is currently getting battered by a massive winter storm with frigid temperatures, high winds and heavy snow, leaving several people dead, knocking out power to over a million customers and wrecking holiday plans from coast to coast.
"Christmas is cancelled. All family and friends agreed it's safer this way," Mick Saunders, a Buffalo, New York, resident told CNN.
One US state is getting hit by the cold, chilly weather is Iowa where Mark Woodley, a sports anchor for news station KWWL, was given the unlucky task of reporting live and outside in the early hours of the morning.
Let's just say, he wasn't happy about it.
"I normally do sports, everything is cancelled here for the next couple of days, so what better time to ask the sports guy to come in about five hours earlier than he would normally wake up, go stand out in the wind and the snow and the cold, and tell other people not to do the same," Woodley said in the montage of his coverage he posted to Twitter.
He went on to joke, "It's absolutely fantastic Ryan, I'm used to these evening shows that are only 30 minutes long and generally on those shows, I am inside, so this is a really long show. Tune in for the next couple of hours to watch me progressively get crankier and crankier".
Woodley also ranted about not being able to drive the heated Storm Chaser.
"I feel like Clint got the better end of that deal. That thing's heated. The outdoors currently is not heated," he said.
As the show continued and it remained snowing, Woodley became more and more frustrated.
"I've got good news and I've got bad news. The good news is that I can still feel my face. The bad news is I kind of wish I couldn't," he said, before adding later in the show, "can I go back to my regular job? I'm pretty sure Ryan, you guys have added an extra hour to this show because someone likes torturing me because compared to two-and-a-half hours ago, it's just getting colder and colder".
Woodley's rant has gone viral on Twitter, with the video getting more than 19 million views, 23 thousand retweets and 140,000 likes, to the delight of many.
One person said, "Big mistake, Woodley. You shouldn't have been so good at this," while another added: "This is a masterpiece. Welcome to your new job".
A third person said, "That's one of the funniest things I've seen," while a fourth added, "Perhaps sadly for you, you have now become far and away my favourite weather reporter".
The video was spread widely by a host of famous names, such as NFL presenter Rich Eisen and comedian Judd Apatow.
