Gold Coast bus driver praised for stopping traffic to save snake from oncoming traffic

An Australian bus driver is being described as a "bloody legend" for stopping mid-route to rescue a large snake from Gold Coast traffic. 

Footage shows the driver walking into the middle of the road where he grabs the huge snake by the tail and carries it safely to some nearby grass.  

He then warns a pedestrian who almost stumbled upon the snake to keep his distance. 

With busy traffic approaching, the snake would have been seconds away from being flattened. 

The clip has gone viral with viewers praising the driver's good deed. 

"Thank you for saving this gorgeous snake," one person said.

"What a bloody legend!!" tweeted another.

"Australian of the year right here," another person said.

"Bra," expressed another.
