The Polish woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann says she only has one memory from her childhood - being by the ocean with family.
Julia Faustyna claims this is proof that she is the missing child. McCann disappeared while on holiday with her parents in Portugal in 2007.
Before Faustyna came out for her interview on Monday, Dr Phil told the audience she had an "eerily similar" memory to the place where McCann was last seen alive.
When Faustyna appeared on the show, she recalled the memory that she claims is the only thing she remembers from before the age of eight.
"I have only this one memory with beach and water, like sea or ocean, and there were turtles and children trying to catch the turtles and take them in their hands. I remembered light-coloured buildings, like white or very light colours, sunlight on this building."
Dr Fia Johansson, a private investigator who has been helping Faustyna, said the memory shows a clear resemblance to the environment where McCann disappeared.
She told Dr Phil: "When I put it all together I thought, 'Hmm something makes sense and I need to get into why she remembers just those things'…That could possibly be the same building that Madeleine vanished from in 2007."
Faustyna is still awaiting results from a DNA test to determine if she is from the UK and could be the missing girl. If she is, they will send the test to Portuguese detectives to look into further.
Speaking to Radar Online, Dr Johansson confirmed that no matter the results, she believes Faustyna is not the biological daughter of her parents and that she was "definitely trafficked to Poland".
This comes as Faustyna's family released their own statement shared via a Polish missing persons charity where they rejected the claims.
"For us as a family, it is obvious that Julia is our daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and step-niece. We have memories, we have pictures. Julia also has these photos, because she took them from the family home with the birth certificate, as well as numerous hospital discharges."
They also shared their daughter had always wanted to be in the spotlight and claims she is now making that happen at the expense of her family.
"Julia once wanted to be a singer, a model. She always wanted to be popular. What's happening now is she [has] 1 million followers… We are devastated at this current situation."
Faustyna, however, isn't having it and said regardless of what the DNA results may show, she doesn't want anything to do with her family, she told Dr Phil.
"I believe I am Madeleine McCann. If she is my mother, I don't want to have contact with her, that's all, but I believe she isn't my mother."
