Two men have been charged after a man's finger was severed during a violent kidnapping in Sydney, Australia earlier this year.
A man, 26, and a woman, 24, were taken nearly 200km north from southwest Sydney against their will in January, according to police.
The pair were allegedly forced into a car in a carpark on Court Rd, Fairfield around midday on January 18 by two men wearing balaclavas.
During the kidnapping the man's finger was severed before they both managed to escape just after midday two days later and called their family, who contacted NSW Police. They were taken to John Hunter Hospital.
Strike Force detectives carried out two search warrants at homes in Smithfield and Cartwright on Tuesday, April 4, according to 7News.
Two men, aged 25 and 25, were arrested and are facing several charges including two counts of take or detain in company with intent to ransom occasioning actual bodily harm.
They were also both charged with participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity.
Earlier this month they were both refused bail at Fairfield Local Court. They will appear in Parramatta Local Court on May 1.
