Police bodycam footage has captured a US woman singing, laughing and dancing in police custody after she killed two people while driving under the influence.
Illinois woman Stephanie Melgoza, 24, has been given a 14-year prison sentence after she pleaded guilty to killing two pedestrians while driving drunk in April last year.
In police bodycam footage published to the Youtube channel Law&Crime Network, Melgoza's dented bonnet and smashed windscreen can be seen while local police speak with the woman.
After a series of field sobriety tests and breathalyzer tests, in which the 24-year-old could be seen smirking and giggling, Melgoza blew over the limit and was arrested by police.
Despite being handcuffed, Melgoza could be seen smirking and laughing while police escorted her to the back of their vehicle.
Police took the woman to the local hospital for what appeared to be further sobriety tests or health checkups where she continued to joke, laugh and sing - despite the police officer telling Melgoza she'd hit and killed two people.
The officer pulled out his phone, and Melgoza raised concern about him being on the social media platform Snapchat.
"I swear to god if you're Snapchatting right now and I'm not, I'm gonna be mad," she said.
She continued that she "won't be answering anyone's Snapchat" once she's home. Melgoza added the officer is being "too quiet" and decided to start singing.
The 24-year-old broke out in song and dance while lying on top of a hospital bed. Her actions clearly frustrated the police officer.
"You're going to jail, you don't have a bond, you killed two people tonight. I don't think you understand that," the officer said.
Melgoza proceeded to ask if she will be going to school the following day.
"Did you not just hear what I just told you?" the officer said.
"You're on body camera being completely careless about killing two people tonight, you could care less. That's sad and pathetic and horrible all at the same time."
