The parents of a three-month-old baby who was mauled to death by their Siberian husky in England have been given suspended jail sentences.
Parents, Vince King, 55, and Karen Alock, 41 were racing 19 dogs in Lincolnshire in March last year, when the attack unfolded.
Their baby, Kyra, was often taken along for the runs from the age of five-days-old, and was described by the judge as a "very much wanted and loved baby".
According to Daily Mail, King had been breeding huskies for 20 years after working in the military, which he sled-raced competitively.
Their baby was asleep in her pram when the husky, Blizzard, jumped out of the unsecured van and mauled her to death.
The parents performed CPR on the baby in an unsuccessful attempt to save her from the head and neck injuries.
The pair were later arrested, Daily Mail reported.
The couple were handed suspended sentences on Monday, as the judge ruled that the incident resulted from a "tragic conjunction of circumstances."
According to Daily Mail, Judge Sjolin Knight described it as a tragic case.
"There was nothing to trigger [Blizzard’s] attack on Kyra, but on this occasion she was dangerously out of control," she said.
"I have no doubt that both of you wish every day you could wind the clock back so that incident never happened."
Judge Knight ruled it as "appropriate to suspend both sentences".
The husky is expected to be put down.
