Tradesman claims Erin Patterson, woman at centre of fatal Australian lunch, had 'death wall' at previous home

The previous home of Erin Patterson, the woman who prepared the fatal mushroom lunch, featured a "death wall" with disturbing children's drawings of tombstones and messages like "you don't [have] long to live", according to a report.

A tradesman sent a picture of the wall, taken last year, to news.com.au. The image shows the inside of Patterson's old Korumburra home, with a wall covered in red, blue and black drawings and messages.

"You don't long to live 1 hour exactly," one text reads.

"Your dead from my sword," another said.

Below two stick figure drawings are the words "I am dead" and "No I am really dead", above what looks to be three tombstones.

News.com.au reports one of the tombstones appears to read "Grandma RIP", while the third reads "ME RIP".

The tradie who spoke with news.com.au and asked not to be identified said he received a call from a real estate agent last year asking him to paint the graffiti wall so the property could be put on the market.

"I've looked at it and gone, holy sh**, what the hell's going on here?" he said.

"I went, 'This is actually really scary for kids to do this inside the kitchen-dining room.' I didn't think it was right, it looked scary."

The 46-year-old tradie said he started calling it "the death wall".

He said he was aware homicide detectives wanted to speak with him about the photo.

The tradie described Patterson's whanāu as "quiet" and said they kept "to themselves".

According to news.com.au, property records show the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home sold in August last year for AU$545,000.

On July 26, Patterson, 48, hosted a family lunch with her former in-laws, Gail and Don Patterson, as well as Gail's sister, Heather Wilkinson, and her husband Ian, at her home in Victoria's Leongatha.

Tragically, Gail and Don, both 70, died, along with Wilkinson, aged 66. Ian remains in the hospital.

Patterson has been interviewed by local police. She remains the main suspect in the investigation, police said.

Patterson has maintained she "didn't do anything, I love them. I just can't fathom what has happened".

She told local media earlier this month she "can't believe that this has happened and I am so sorry that they have lost their lives".
