The nephew of an elderly woman taken hostage by Hamas is begging for her safe release.
Two weeks ago, 72-year-old Adina Moshe was kidnapped from her home in Israel and her husband was shot dead, her family said.
The last the family saw of her was video footage of Moshe being taken away by what appears to be two Hamas fighters on a motorcycle. Her family believes she is being kept in Hamas' underground tunnel network in Gaza.
Nephew Eyal Nouri joined AM on Thursday to call for Moshe's release on humanitarian grounds, particularly to ensure she receives the critical medications she needs.
He said his uncle was a farmer and his aunt worked in education. Nouri said the pair believed in peace, living side by side with Palestinians.
"They were the last ones that deserved to be killed and kidnapped by the terrorist hands of the Hamas," Nouri told co-host Ryan Bridge.
Nouri said nearby Moshe's son Amos, wife, and five kids barricaded themselves in a secure room for a harrowing seven hours before they were rescued. After they were rescued, Amos made the heartbreaking discovery that his father was murdered and his mother was abducted.
"If you think about her situation, she's there, she doesn't know what happened to her husband… She is not aware that her son has been safely evacuated together with his wife and five children. She thinks everybody got killed… and she's there, terrified," he said.
"I am calling to do the human act and release Adina Moshe."
