A 28-year-old New Zealander has been named as the man killed in a Sydney hit-and-run.
Mitch East, a lawyer, was struck down in Fletcher St, in Tamarama, just after 4am (local time) on Sunday.
Police are now looking for the driver of a white Subaru Outback caught on CCTV at the time of the crash.
East had just been dropped off in the street by an Uber driver moments before he was hit, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Neighbours told 9News they heard a loud bang or thud followed by a car alarm about the same time the incident was reported.
Police and paramedics performed CPR but were unable to revive him. He died at the scene.
East, who was educated at the University of Otago and Harvard Law School, was working at Arnold Bloch Leibler law firm.
He'd previously worked on the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Christchurch Terrorist Attack.
A cordon was put in place around the area while police investigated.
Police are appealing for information about the incident from the public.
