A worker in Sydney has revealed his surprising salary gained after just one week of training.

The man appeared on a TikTok channel for Getahead, a jobseekers app that works like Tinder.

The job title is "high-rise" worker.

"Sometimes it is window cleaning, sometimes it is remedial work on old buildings," the man revealed.

He said the pay varies between AUD$45 and $50 an hour, sometimes more depending on the job.

Job website Indeed suggests a similar role in New Zealand pays $65,000 a year, or $32 an hour.

A job listed for Access Partners in Property is advertising up to $37 an hour for permanent, full-time work.

When asked how to get into his line of work, he revealed it requires just one week of training.

News.com.au reported that the course was done through the Industrial Ropes Access Trade Association.

The man said the job was fun at first, but after a few years it becomes "routine".

The video, posted late last week, has gained more than 24,000 views, and garnered some comments with people surprised by the high wage.
