The anti-domestic violence White Ribbon Trust is re-launching as an independently run campaign today.
The Families Commission was previously responsible for the campaign.
The launch coincides with the third anniversary of the murder of Emily Longley.
Her father, Mark Longley – a trust ambassador – says it's important that White Ribbon continues its work.
"The man that killed her, Elliot Turner, was very vocal about what he was going to do to her – he was very open about it, it was no secret amongst his friends.
"He bragged about that he was going to kill her to – he even said he'd killed her before he killed her – and none of his friends really reined him in or stopped him.
"It's important for me to spread the word to other men that if your mate's acting like that you shouldn't condone it."
One in three women experience violence from a partner in their lifetime.
Mr Longley says he wants to change the culture so 14 women in New Zealand aren't killed each year by a member of their own family.
