Police have swooped in on the Daktory after it was revealed yesterday the cannabis club was selling the drug from a vending machine.
Cannabis, cash, drug paraphernalia and the vending machine were seized and four people arrested in a raid on the New Lynn warehouse about 6:30pm last night.
Police say there were about 20 people at the Daktory when they arrived. They found $27,000 in a backpack, 200g of cannabis in the freezer and another 500g "pre packaged".
Det Insp Bruce Scott says police "act swiftly" on drug offences.
"We certainly do not take a softly, softly approach," he says.
“These seizures will have a significant impact on local cannabis consumers for some time. We will continue to monitor and manage the activities of the Daktory for further offending."
The Daktory installed the vending machine in an attempt to avoid any of its members getting charged with dealing. The ploy appears to have failed, however – the four arrested have been accused of possession of cannabis, possession for supply, permits premises to be used, and possession of drug related utensils, and other unspecified charges.
They will appear in the Waitakere District Court on Wednesday.
