A video of actor Johnny Depp slamming cabinets and swearing has been shown to a US court during the trial between him and ex-wife Amber Heard.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star is seeking NZ$74 million in damages over an article Heard wrote alleging she was a victim of domestic violence.
The video, which was filmed on a camera Heard shakily set up, showed Depp angrily slamming cabinet doors and swearing before pouring himself a large glass of red wine.
When Depp found the camera and confronted Heard, she shakily said: "I had only just set it up."
In court, Johnny Depp said: "I thought what was interesting was that she laughed and smiled at the end. I did assault a couple of cabinets but I did not touch Miss Heard."
Johnny Depp is accused of being so in the grip of drink and drugs that he'd become like a monster consumed by rage and violence.
The court was also shown violent text messages sent by actor Johnny Depp about Heard. One of the prosecutors in court asked Depp about the texts.
"After you said let's drown her before we burn her, you said I will f**k her afterwards to make sure she's dead. Did I read that right?"
"You certainly did," Depp answered.
Depp's cross-examination will continue in this hearing which is expected to last six weeks.
