Meghan Markle is reportedly holding a grudge against pop star Katy Perry over a comment she made about her wedding dress in 2018.
During a promotional tour in the US for American Idol, Perry joked on Entertainment Tonight that she would have "done one more fitting" for the white Givenchy gown Markle wore for her May 19 nuptials to Prince Harry.
A source now claims the comment has continued to be the source of an alleged grudge Markle holds against the hitmarker; made even more awkward by the fact she and Prince Harry now live next door to Perry and her husband Orlando Bloom in Montecito, California.
The source told The Daily Star: "Orlando is very sympathetic towards Harry and Meghan and does reach out if he ever sees anything suspicious in the neighbourhood.
"However, Meghan is keenly aware of a comment that Katy Perry made in 2018 about her wedding dress and is notorious for holding a grudge.
"While the comment wasn't meant to be hurtful, Meghan felt under siege at that time and was overwhelmed by arguments with staff, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Thomas Markle.
"I would not expect to see Meghan and Katy carpooling to PTA meetings anytime in the future," the source concluded.
The source also said the couples weren't great friends, but more "acquaintances".
"While Harry is sincerely grateful to anyone that is proactive in protecting his family, the Duke of Sussex and Orlando fit more into the 'acquaintance category' than friends."
Bloom had voiced a cartoon version of Prince Harry in the controversial series The Prince, which roundly mocked the Royal Family - and Prince George in particular.
He told The Hollywood Reporter the show was "not malicious or intended to be".
