Controversial UK broadcaster Piers Morgan has slammed Meghan Markle's debut episode of her podcast Archetype, which launched on Spotify on Tuesday (local time).
The first episode saw tennis champion Serena Williams and the Duchess of Sussex recounting the challenges they've faced as working mothers.
Markle revealed a fire had broken out in Archie's room just moments after the nanny had carried him out.
After the incident, which happened while she was on a tour of South Africa, she said she'd had to resume her official duties.
"The focus ends up being on how it looks instead of how it feels," Meghan said.
"And part of the humanising and the breaking through of these labels and these archetypes and these boxes that we're put into is having some understanding of the human moments behind the scenes that people might not have any awareness of and to give each other a break.
"Because we did - we had to leave our baby," she said.
In his critique of the episode, Morgan, 57, didn't hold back, saying Markle's "victimhood knows no bounds".
"It's not your ambition we dislike, Princess Pinocchio - it's the vile way you trash the Royal Family whilst simultaneously exploiting your royal status for millions of dollars as with this podcast."
Morgan also doubled down on his criticism in a follow-up post to his Twitter account.
"He wasn't even in the room & nobody was harmed. Can you imagine the Queen whining about having to [attent] an engagement in this circumstance? Markle's victimhood knows no bounds, nor does her thirst to trash the royals whilst making $$$ from them.
"It's shameless & pathetic," he posted on Twitter.
Morgan has long had issues with Meghan and her husband Prince Harry. Morgan's controversial critique of the couple's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last year sparked widespread criticism, causing him to leave his job hosting Good Morning Britain.
During the interview the Duchess revealed to Winfrey that she had suicidal thoughts as a working royal, but was refused help by senior Buckingham Palace officials - a claim Morgan questioned.
"Who did you go to?" he said. "What did they say to you? I'm sorry, I don't believe a word she said, Meghan Markle. I wouldn't believe it if she read me a weather report.
"The fact that she's fired up this onslaught against our Royal Family, I think is contemptible."
