Mike Tindall has reportedly not sought permission from King Charles III to appear on the next season of UK TV reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here.

Tindall is the husband of the King's niece Zara Tindall.

The Sunday Times reported the former England rugby captain didn't ask for permission to be part of the show, which sees celebrities dumped in a jungle and left to survive as well as partaking in activities like eating bugs to win food for their team.

The show has yet to confirm its list of celebrities, but it's being widely reported in the UK Tindall will be part of the lineup - and could earn up to NZ$302,000 for taking part.

Online support for Tindall has already been swift, with many praising the possible appearance.

"I so hope this is true, we love Mike Tindall, he's so cool," one Twitter user said.

"I’ll be surprised if he isn’t doing it for charity. Good for him. He’ll be entertaining," another replied.

Another even said the new King had nothing to worry about and didn't need to fear the monarchy would be mocked if it was true.

"He's very personable and funny. He'll be fun on the show. He's a confident guy. Won't be an embarrassment."

Tindall himself has declined to comment on the reports.
