Prince Harry's tell-all memoir will never be published according to royal author Tina Brown.
The author of the Palace Papers said there would be "no way back" for Harry if the book makes it into the public realm.
Brown told UK paper The Telegraph the fact Harry has already signalled for changes to be made in the book after the death of Queen Elizabeth hints at a larger problem the former royal is facing.
"They are now in this bind, where they've taken all this money and Harry has made this book deal where he's supposed to spill everything about his horrible life as a royal, but now he's actually tortured about it because he understands there is no way back if he does it," she said.
"If the book continues, I don't think there is any way for Harry to return. So my view has always been that the book won't see the light of day."
However, former Tory peer Jeffrey Archer said he believed Hary was writing a new chapter for the book, which is what had caused a delay in its publication.
The chapter is rumoured to be about Harry in the build-up to the death of the Queen and the funeral itself.
The Mail on Sunday reported in September publishers Penguin Random House had already demanded a rewrite after the first draft was deemed 'too touchy-feely' and placed too much focus on mental health issues.
Brown also said if Princess Diana had still been alive, she would have strongly advised Harry to stop his planned book and focus on rebuilding bridges with the family.
