Rihanna has announced her first new music in six years.
Her new song 'Lift Me Up' will be part of the soundtrack to the upcoming Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
It was written by Rihanna, Tems, Ludwig Göransson and Ryan Coogler and was recorded in five countries.
It has also been announced the song will be a tribute to the life and legacy of late Disney legend Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman died in August 2020 from colon cancer.
"After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I've lost in my life,” said Tems in a statement on the Disney website.
"I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honour."
The soundtrack to Wakanda Forever is due to release on November 4, one week before the film releases in the US. It will open in New Zealand on November 9.
Rihanna has largely been out of the musical spotlight, but will be performing as the headliner at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in February 2023.
