The title of Prince Harry's memoir has finally been revealed as Spare and it will be releaseed on January 10, 2023.
Penguin Random House has revealed the cover and confirmed the release date after speculation on Thursday the 416 page book would be out early in January.
The book's cover features a close up picture of Harry with a slight smile on his face.
It will contain "raw, unflinching honesty", Penguin Random House said in a statement.
The company also described the book as "a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.
"For Harry, this is his story at last."
Further details of Spare were revealed, including that it would go back to Diana's death, taking "readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother's coffin as the world watched in sorrow - and horror."
"As Diana, Princess of Wales was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling - and how their lives would play out from that point on.
"It offers an honest and captivating personal portrait, one that shows readers that behind everything they think they know about the Prince lies a story that is variably inspiring, courageous, and eye-opening."
The title of the book plays on the fact Harry has always been seen as a "spare" heir to the throne, with his brother William to ascend once King Charles III steps down or dies.
People magazine reported the book would release simultaneously in North America and Britain.
Penguin Random House has confirmed the book will be available in Aotearoa from January 11, 2023.
