UK comedian Alan Carr says he would vote for National leader Christopher Luxon due to his "giving out free ice cream."
The Chatty Man star is in New Zealand for a three-date stand up tour in Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington and was shown a selection of Kiwi viral videos on AM by hosts Ryan Bridge and Amanda Gillies.
He was asked to see if he could guess what was going on during each segment.
Carr was shown the infamous Blow on Pie video from Police Ten7, where an officer told a bystander that his pie would have gone "thermonuclear" in the microwave.
He was also shown a clip of Levi Hawkins and his 'Nek Minnit' comment, but couldn't identify him.
The "togs, togs, undies" ad from TipTop was also shown to Carr, who proclaimed "thought I could see his Calippo" much to the amusement of Bridge and Gillies.
Finally, Carr watched footage of National leader Christopher Luxon making and handing out ice cream at the Merivale McDonald's from October this year.
When asked who it was, Carr was stumped.
"I think he's giving out ice creams to, like, a soup kitchen," Carr said.
"Here, have a free ice cream - he's very kind."
"Is he famous? Is he the mayor of Auckland?" Carr asked.
When he was told it was the National Party leader, Carr said if "he's giving out free ice cream, I'd vote for him".
Carr has also hit out at the New Zealand weather during his week-long visit. He arrived in the country as some of the wildest weather hit the region, with severe thunderstorms affecting parts of Aotearoa and causing flooding.
"What's going on with the weather," Carr said.
"I packed budgie smugglers, my [sun cream] Piz Buin. I had to buy an anorak!"
Carr's Regional Trinket plays Christchurch's Isaac Royal Theatre on November 23, Auckland's Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre on November 24 and Wellington's Opera House on November 26.
