Controversial US comedian Dave Chappelle is heading to Auckland and Christchurch in February 2023 for his first-ever New Zealand tour.
He will play Auckland's Spark Arena on February 18 before heading to Christchurch on February 21.
Tickets for the shows will go on sale on Friday, December 16.
Organisers of the show have warned attendees no cellphones will be allowed, as has become the norm at touring international comedy shows.
Phones will be locked in pouches during the event, and fans have been warned they will be "ejected" if they're caught using them.
US comedian Chris Rock employed a similar method during his New Zealand tour in August.
Chappelle has been a controversial figure in comedy.
On Tuesday, footage emerged of him bringing Twitter boss Elon Musk on stage during his show in San Francisco.
Musk was relentlessly booed for 10 minutes during the appearance.
The reaction prompted Chappelle, who has also been criticised for jokes he's made aimed at transgender people, to tell Musk that it "sounds like some of those people you fired are in the audience."
In October 2021, there were protests against streaming giant Netflix after they released his comedy special The Closer.
Netflix staff members, transgender rights advocates and public officials gathered on a sidewalk outside a Netflix office in Los Angeles amid claims the special mocked trans rights.
Chief content officer Ted Sarandos previously defended the decision to air the show, saying Chappelle's language in the special did not cross the line into inciting violence.
In May this year, Chappelle was attacked on stage at the Hollywood Bowl in California during a show.
An assailant tackled him to the ground before being apprehended and arrested.
Chappelle left the stage following the attack but returned to finish his act and appeared to be uninjured.
