Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of rock'n'roll legend Elvis Presley, is reportedly in "critical condition" and on life support in an intensive care unit in the US following a "full" cardiac arrest on Thursday (local time).
Celebrity website TMZ said the 54-year-old singer was in an induced coma and had been fitted with a temporary pacemaker to help her recover.
Her mother and Elvis Presley's former wife, Priscilla Presley, 77, shared an update on her Instagram asking people to keep her daughter "in your prayers".
"My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care.
"Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time," she said on social media.
On Friday (NZ time) celebrity website TMZ said she had been rushed to hospital in California after going into "full cardiac arrest".
Presley had to have CPR at her home in Calabasas, according to the report.
TMZ said paramedics had been unable to find a pulse and had to use the adrenaline drug epinephrine to help her be revived.
Deadline said a representative for Presley had “no comment at this time" on the reports.
The daughter of Elvis had attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday (US time) this week, where she watched actor Austin Butler win an award for his portrayal of her father in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis.
The 54-year-old singer and songwriter has three children, including actress Riley Keough.
TMZ has also reported a source telling them it was Lisa Marie's housekeeper who found her unresponsive in her bedroom.
The website also claimed it was Lisa's ex-husband Danny Keough who had carried out CPR until the paramedics arrived.
The website also shared a picture of Lisa Marie's mother Priscilla arriving at the hospital to be with her daughter.
LA County Fire Department spokesperson Cailtlyn Aldana told CNN that emergency responders had been sent to a call at a house in the Agoura Hills region of California, but would not confirm the name of the patient due to privacy laws.
CNN also said a representative for Presley declined to comment.
