Snoop Dogg has been gifted artworks by West Auckland students ahead of his I Wanna Thank Me tour dates in Christchurch and Auckland.
The 'Drop It Like It's Hot' rapper was greeted with a pōwhri after touching down in Aotearoa on Thursday night.
He arrived at Auckland Airport at around 8pm and met with students from Kākano Youth Arts Collective.
Footage from the welcome showed Snoop telling students "don't be shy, come on in here, you can't hide now" after they seemed to get nervous.
Student Georgia, one of those who was there, told AM it was a "once in a lifetime" moment.
"It was really amazing, we got to see Snoop Dogg arrive on his private yet, which was really cool to see. We got the opportunity to give him our art - a once in a lifetime opportunity," she said.
When asked by Ryan Bridge if Snoop gave them any gifts in return, she said "sadly not, he just brought himself".
Snoop posted on social media the greeting he'd received at the SO/ Auckland hotel where he was staying.
One fan replied: "Welcome to the Land of the Long White Cloud. Enjoy the sticky-icky-icky."
Snoop will be performing in Christchurch at Orangetheory Stadium on Friday and then at Auckland's Trusts Outdoors on Saturday.
