Rita Ora says her mother was "upset" when she broke the lockdown rules by throwing a 30th birthday party in London three years ago.
In a new interview for Glamour magazine, Ora revealed she still felt shame for the party, which happened when London was in lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ora said her psychiatrist mother Vera Sahatçiu, who worked on the UK National Health Service frontline during the pandemic, had been unhappy at the news of her daughter's breach.
The singer was discussing how she owned her mistakes during the interview when she made the confession.
"I've never drawn within the lines. I'd like to think all the mistakes I've made, and all the decisions I've made, I own up to. I don't run away from them," she said.
When asked about the furore which followed and her subsequent condemnation by the then UK Home Secretary Priti Patel, Ora said her mother's work on the frontline caused her to reflect heavily on what she had done.
"She was upset with me, that was the worst bit, seeing her working every day and coming home exhausted and knowing what I did, was obviously avoidable."
Ora issued an apology at the time saying her behaviour was "inexcusable."
"This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.
"I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep us all safe. Even though this won't make it right, I want to sincerely apologise," she said in 2020.
In the wide-ranging interview Ora also revealed details of her wedding to Taika Waititi.
She said the wedding was planned "“in two to three days, when I was out of cycle, which is what I call it when I'm not in album cycle mode."
She also revealed her parents attended via Zoom and only her sister was there in person.
She confirmed that Waititi had his two daughters there from his marriage to Chelsea Winstanley.
"I really wanted them to be a part of it. It was either then or we had to wait for ages. I didn't want to do it without my stepkids there. So, we just figured it out and we did it. And it was perfect," she told the magazine.
Ora and Waititi began dating in March 2021.
