Pop singer Ava Max has become the latest musician to get attacked by an attendee in the crowd during a live show.
The 'Sweet but Psycho' singer was slapped by a fan who managed to get on stage during Max's performance in Los Angeles.
The incident comes just days after 'Meant to Be' singer Bebe Rexha was hit by a phone thrown by a member of the public during her concert.
Video shared online showed Max carry on singing while the audience member was bear-hugged by security and dragged off stage.
However, Max walked off stage moments later, saying goodbye to the crowd as she left.
She took to Twitter afterwards to reveal the extent of her injuries.
"He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye," she wrote.
"He's never coming to a show again. Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!"
Max carried on with agreed public meet-and-greets after the show, but photos online showed her wearing dark glasses to conceal the impact of the slap.
According to TMZ, the man dragged off stage by security later explained that he simply wanted to "hold" the star.
The incident is the latest in a growing trend of fans attacking singers on stage.
In August last year, British singer Harry Styles was forced to briefly stop a New York gig after fans pelted him with chicken nuggets.
Footage from a performance during Styles' residence at Madison Square Garden shows Styles handling one of the nuggies, holding it aloft, and asking the crowd, "Who threw the chicken nugget?"
The Harry's House singer said it was a "very interesting approach" and seconds later, another one landed on the stage next to him.
Styles was also struck in the face by Skittles just months later in Los Angeles.
