The Chemical Brothers are to return to New Zealand for the first time in over a decade to headline Christchurch's Electric Avenue festival.

They will play alongside the likes of Six 60, L.A.B and others at Hagley Park on Saturday, February 24 next year.

The electronic duo's return is part of a tour to promote their 10th studio album, For That Beautiful Feeling.

Also announced for the 12-hour festival are Kiwi hitmakers Six60, L.A.B, Shapeshifter, and the popular Synthony show.

UK drum and bass producers Hybrid Minds and Australian house artists Flight Facillties are also among the more than 30 artists on the line-up.

Over 35,000 people are expected to attend the event.

Tickets go on sale from Thursday, September 21.
