The Weeknd has 'postponed' his upcoming New Zealand concerts "due to unforeseen circumstances", with new dates not to be announced until next year.
The 'Blinding Lights' hitmaker had been due to play two dates at Auckland's Eden Park in December and customers are now being offered refunds.
A statement sent to ticketholders late on Friday afternoon said the pop star was "deeply disappointed" to axe this year's shows.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, we must reschedule the Australia/New Zealand tour. New dates will be announced next year and current tickets will be valid for the new shows," the Ticketmaster statement reads.
"Refunds will be available for those unable to attend the new dates. Deeply disappointed but can't wait to be there with you!"
Promoters Live Nation told customers they could either keep their existing tickets until new dates were announced or apply for refunds now.
"We understand fans will be disappointed and Live Nation is focused on working with The Weeknd to secure a new tour schedule," the statement reads.
"We will make a further announcement as soon as possible."
Ticketing agent Ticketmaster said it would contact ticketholders with further details about potential new show dates "in due course".
The New Zealand leg of the global After Hours Til Dawn tour was originally planned for Eden Park on December 7 and 8, but extra dates in Australia due to "phenomenal demand" saw the December 7 date cancelled. A second New Zealand show was then announced for December 9.
Now, however, the entire Australian leg of the concert has also been postponed, as well as New Zealand.
No further details over the reason for the cancellation have been given.
