The ex-girlfriend of Married at First Sight Australia's Jack Dunkley is lashing out at the way she says she's been portrayed on the reality TV series, saying she has "suffered" from his comments.
Dunkley, who has been paired with Tori Adams on the show, has been accused of applying for it while still dating. It's claimed he told his then-girlfriend he was flying to America for work when he travelled to Sydney to take part in the show.
Fellow members of the experiment heard about the claims prior to the first dinner party episode, before asking Dunkley to explain.
His response included declaring the woman a "crazy ex".
Now said ex, Brisbane-based Courtney Jade, has posted several stories to Instagram hitting back at Dunkley's comments and trying to prove the pair were together and happy prior to his apparent disappearing act.
"I don't deserve to be portrayed the way I have been," she wrote.
"For something so meaningful to be disregarded like nothing. All I can do now is put my armour on and fight a battle I never wanted."
She uploaded a picture of the two of them which she claimed was at an airport one week before he had "dumped" her to go on MAFS.
Jade has previously claimed Dunkley had "met all the family" and "said he loves me" prior to his apparent abandoning of her.
In a follow up post, Jade thanked fans for getting in touch to offer her support, saying she was "trying my absolute best to keep my head high".
But she also revealed how she had been negatively impacted.
"My mental health has suffered due to being completely blindsided and losing my best friend to a reality TV show," Jade said.
"Jack has never tried to break up with me and our relationship was becoming quite serious. We spoke regularly about our future together and I don't believe he is on the show for the right reasons at all."
Dunkley has addressed her claims in an interview with Pedestrian TV with his TV wife Tori Adams by his side.
"She was throwing claims at me like I used her and didn't care about her and I said, 'No, I do care for you and I had love for you'. That is the one and only time I've ever used that term [love]," he said.
"And I did [have love] at that point and I wish her nothing but the best. I wanted that girl to do good things and live a happy life."
However, he revealed he was still receiving contact from Jade prior to his television nuptials.
"I was still having communication like a month before, a week before, a day before I met Tori - I wasn't responding. But my phone was blowing up."
Adams has also verified she knew about the ex soon after their wedding.
"We had this conversation [about the ex] maybe two or three days into our honeymoon, so I was well abreast of the situation regarding this person, so it wasn't a shock to me at all," she said.
"Everything that Jack told me was factual, and everything that Jack brought to the table was the exact same thing [as what he told me], so there was no inconsistencies of stories whatsoever."
