Tenacious D are returning New Zealand for shows in Auckland and Wellington in July, marking the first time the band has played here since 2011.
Jack Black and Kyle Gass will bring their Spicy Meatball Tour to Wellington's TSB Arena on Wednesday, July 24, before heading to Auckland's Spark Arena on Friday, July 26.
The tour has been a hit abroad with the group playing in 24 cities worldwide.
Tickets for the Aotearoa shows go on sale Friday, February 9.
In 2011, Tenacious D played Auckland's Western Springs and their set before Foo Fighters caused a ground movement which was similar to a volcanic tremor.
Last month in Auckland, Black appeared onstage with Foo Fighters in a surprise appearance during which he covered AC/DC at Mt Smart Stadium.
The Super Mario Bros actor, who is in Auckland to film the new Minecraft movie along with Jason Momoa and Jennifer Coolidge, was introduced by lead singer Dave Grohl after he announced they couldn't leave without playing an AC/DC classic.
Black sang the 1976 song 'Big Balls' before ending his time on stage doing a forward roll into the crowd.
Footage of Black's appearance quickly spread on social media, with many fans stunned at his shock performance.
"Foo Fighters bringing out Jack Black to sing an AC/DC song about having massive balls was definitely not on my 2024 bingo list," one wrote on social media at the time.
