A New Zealand version of international dating show My Mum, Your Dad will premiere in April on Three and ThreeNow, Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ has announced.
The show, which follows single parents whose children have nominated them to find love, will debut on April 21.
Host Sharyn Casey will help guide the prospective couples on their journey to a second chance at love. However, there's a twist – unbeknownst to the parents, their kids will be watching their every move from a nearby location called 'The Bunker'.
The show launched in the UK on broadcaster ITV in 2023 and was described by critics as "heartwarming" and "hilarious".
My Mum Your Dad NZ is an original format created by Hayley and Greg Daniels which has spawned versions in the US, Sweden, Germany, France, and Australia.
In a statement, Warner Bros. Discovery Senior Director of Commissioning ANZ Vicki Keogh said the show was full of heart.
"My Mum, Your Dad NZ is a heartfelt celebration of mature relationships and the special bond that exists between parent and child. It's part of an evolution of reality television that prioritises heart and humour over drama and conflict."
Keogh also paid tribute to show participant Flavio Fedrizzi, who died at the end of 2023 several months after filming had ended, saying his son had given Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ the family's "full and ongoing support" to air the show.
In an accompanying statement, son Enzo Tessadri - who went on the show with his father - said his dad "loved meeting everyone" during this "unique experience".
"Most of all, we both loved doing it together. And now dad has passed away, it is something I can keep forever."
My Mum, Your Dad NZ will air on Three and ThreeNow from April 21.
