New Zealand news media company Stuff and Newshub's parent company Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ have reportedly reached a deal around local commercial TV new bulletins.
While not yet officially confirmed, it is believed the companies have been negotiating a deal that would see Stuff provide television news bulletins for Three following Newshub's closure in July.
Newshub staff have been called to a meeting for an "important business update" at 10:30am on Tuesday, when it is understood a Town Hall meeting is also being held at Stuff.
On Tuesday morning, The Post reported Stuff and Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ had reached a deal that would be announced later in the day.
It is currently unclear if the Newshub brand would be continued with the new broadcasts. It is also unclear what the reported deal would mean for the hundreds of staff being made redundant from Newshub and Three.
Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ has been approached for comment.
The Spinoff reported the New Zealand Herald's parent company NZME had also pitched for the opportunity to produce post-Newshub bulletins, but failed to reach a deal.
Last week it was confirmed Newshub will close on July 5 as part of a drastic restructure of Warner Bros. Discovery's New Zealand free-to-air television business which means axing nearly 300 roles.
