Thousands of comic and fantasy fans are expected to attend Auckland's Wintergeddon festival this weekend.
Terminator 2 star Robert Patrick will headline the event, with guests also including Pokémon voice actor Veronica Taylor, Doctor Who's John Barrowman, and actors from the adult animated sitcom Rick and Morty.
The show will also include a Pokémon GO activation, featuring event bonuses, field research tasks and timed projects.
Organiser Bill Geradts told AM on Friday that while the show was traditionally held on Auckland's Labour weekend in October, they have started putting on more events due to its rising popularity.
