Melissa Chan-Green, Lloyd Burr, William Waiirua, Nicky Styris and Michael O'Keeffe have bid an emotional farewell to audiences during their final ever show on Friday.
Speaking before a highlights reel of the show played out, Chan-Green made an impassioned plea in support of everyone who had lost their jobs in industries across the motu, reminding everyone that: "We are still in this together."
O'Keeffe said it had been "an amazing journey," before admitting: "I've done things I've always wanted to do, be a merman, be called eye candy. I'm always grateful to have been afforded this opportunity, one I've never believed I've deserved."
Roving reporter Waiirua said it was a difficult speech to make.
"I'm pretty nervous, actually, I usually like to have a laugh. I just want to say thank you to everyone because I'm actually a bit of a pain! I just want to thank everyone at AM for taking a chance on me, because I'm a bit of a wildcat."
"I just wanted to make you laugh," he said before launching into his trademark dance routine.
Styris struggled to contain the emotion, saying: "I'm going to be the idiot who cries.
"I started as a fill-in, and I kept filling in and it's become a really big part of my life. It's been an absolute privilege to be part of AM. Thank you for making me laugh, and for at times, making me cry. I've been surrounded by talented professionals. Not a day has gone by when I've not wanted to come to work - the rewards are absolutely immense. We have always been unashamedly real," she said.
"Today feels really sad, I'll miss all this."
Burr revealed to the audience he was gutted mostly for them.
"I'm sorry we couldn't save it, we tried, we really did try. I wanna thank this awesome team - Mel, I want to thank you for carrying this entire show. But it is you that are watching that I want to thank the most."
With the emotion getting to her, Chan-Green had the last word on the show.
"I'm sorry if the lump in the throat gets me. This place has put me through several onscreen arranged marriages," she joked, referring to host changes, before turning to current host, Burr.
"Lloyd, you are a genuine positive force, you have such an amazing impact on our team."
She also paid tribute to her husband, Casper, saying: "I could not have done this without you."
"I did sometimes wonder how I got here. Now I'm going to show my lovely babies how you pick yourselves up."
Chan-Green ended by referencing those who have lost their jobs across the country, making a plea for solidarity and empathy during the coming months.
"We may be turning the lights out, but we are all still in this together."
