Actor Jamie Foxx has revealed more about a mystery illness that struck him last year, saying he doesn't "remember anything" about what happened.

The Django Unchained star was hospitalised in Atlanta in April with an undisclosed medical condition.

"Look, April 11th last year," Foxx began as he spoke to a group of people at an outdoor café in Phoenix, in a video shared on X.

"Bad headache. I asked my boy for an Advil."

He then snapped his fingers and said: "I was gone for 20 days. I don't remember anything."

Foxx then shared further details, but stopped short of saying exactly what he was diagnosed with.

"So they told me - I'm in Atlanta - so they told me my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor. They gave me a cortisone shot.

"The next doctor said something's going on up there," he said, while pointing to his head.

"I won't say it on camera," Foxx said before the video ended.

In July last year, Foxx spoke of the toll the illness had taken on him, saying he had held back from speaking once he had begun recovering amid fears people would over-worry.

"I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that, man," he said.

"I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through."

Foxx credited his daughter and sister for saving his life.

"To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I'm able to leave you this video," he said.

"I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y'all know they kept it airtight, they didn't let nothing out, they protected me, and that's what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these."
