A woman has died after a skydiving accident at Muriwai beach in Auckland on Thursday.
Police were called to the beach around 7:43pm after two skydivers collided in the air.
A police spokesperson said a woman fell into the water and died.
"A female diver has sadly gone into the water and died at the scene. A male has received moderate injuries and was taken to Auckland Hospital," they said.
WorkSafe and the CAA have been notified and the death has been referred to the Coroner.
"Our deepest thoughts and sympathies are with the deceased’s family at this extremely difficult time," the spokesperson said.
